Hi, in this post we will be showing you the easy and official process of unlocking bootloader after getting the official unlock permission from MIUI after applying for the unlock permission. If you still haven’t applied for unlocking permission visit this website:

How to officially unlock bootloader on Xiaomi smartphone

You must pay an important attention while you want to unlock your bootloader. In order to officially unlock bootloader on your Xiaomi phone is that you must have Developer ROM installed on your device and your MI account must be old enough to be able to achieve success.

It is very important to link your Xiaomi phone to the Mi account for which you have acquired permission of bootloader unlock. To avoid " unlocking” error after logging into your account, you can try some random actions with this account, e.g find your phone on the site

Now, after ensuring everything is in order, is time to process for the unlocking of your bootloader.
  1. Download and unpack MiFlashUnlock.
  2. On the first startup click “Agree”.
  3. Sign in with your Mi account.
  4. Turn off your device completely.
  5. Now, boot your device in fastboot mod by Press “Power” button and “Volume Down” button at the same time and wait for logo to appear.
  6. Connect your device to PC and press “Unlock” button.
  7. If all three check marks are highlighted you’ve successfully unlocked bootloader on your device. If not you should visit MIUI forum and ask for additional help.
There are exceptions for a couple of devices: Mi4c and Mi Note Pro device comes with unlocked bootloader. You’ll need to flash China Developer ROM version, got bootloader locked again, and then request permission to unlock bootloader. Waiting time, in this case, is around 4-8 days, and all that time Mi Unlock will be showing “Current account is different from the account info on the device” message.

If you are using Redmi 3 & Redmi Note 3 device you can check bootloader status by going to “Settings” > “About” > Now tap 5 times on kernel version and look for fastboot lock state. Now check for “unlock” then you have unlocked the device, if “lock” than bootloader is locked.
